Quadra Island is located in the traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, which includes the traditional lands of the Wei Wai Kai and Wei Wai Kum nations. Crossing Discovery Passage on the 10-minute ferry ride from Campbell River, you are transported into another world, a special place where life is simpler, less stressful, quieter. There’s no hustle, no bustle, and certainly no rat race. In a modern world where everything’s always moving faster and faster, it feels really good to hit pause. To reflect. To exhale. To bathe in the soothing sights, sounds, and smells of nature. To connect with what really matters. The sense of community here fills us with resolve to protect our community and unique way of life.
People are drawn to Quadra Island from around the world to experience our hiking and mountain biking trails, beaches, whale watching, sea kayaking and majestic mountain vistas. Our island population of 2,400 includes locally owned businesses, artisans, craft people, wineries, inns, cottages, and campgrounds. We welcome you to plan a future visit or stay-cation. In the meantime, please support our Island COMEBACK recovery and renewal initiative.
