Tucked in the middle of the Salish Sea, with white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and a rich biodiversity complemented by a laid-back island vibe, it’s easy to understand how Hornby earned its nickname as Canada’s Hawaii.
Located on the traditional unceded territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, Hornby Island is an artist haven, with a variety of painters, musicians, photographers, potters, sculptors, and wood and metal workers. Hornby is blessed to have approximately 1/3 of its land mass in parks and most of the ocean foreshore accessible. Tribune Bay Provincial Park boasts one of the finest sandy, swimming beaches in B.C. Helliwell Provincial Park offers a 5 km. walk that circles along spectacular bluffs and through old-growth forest and Garry Oak meadows. The Mt. Geoffrey Parks have an extensive trail system for hiking and mountain biking. Our residents are committed to environmental protection we care deeply for our island and community. We tread lightly on the land and treat others with love and respect.
